(I’d put it in the cruft category but it is a for sale, not give-away item)
As some of you know, I’ve been working on reconditioning an old guitar that belonged to my GF, she has not played it in years, it has just been sitting in our basement so I’d like to see it turn into cash, and find a home that will use and appreciate it more than we do…
It is a Yamaha FG-200 Acoustic Guitar, that I frequently see described as a “Dreadnought” style similar to a Gibson. I’m told it is regarded as a very nice instrument, I know the threads I found when searching for info about it were very enthusiastic.

I cleaned up the fret board and lower bridge that had a little bit of mildew staining, and oiled them, and it looks great. I replaced the old strings with a new set of D’addario “Silk & Steel” strings. There is a small scuff on the top, otherwise the finish is in excellent condition.
As I am told is common on instruments this old, the neck is slightly curved forwards and some of the guitar folks that have looked at it say it could use a neck reset, which would cost more than it’s worth. Others have said it is not to bad
It also has the rather light duty (cardboard?) case that it probably came in, Which had a lot of staining and some rust on the hardware. I’ve cleaned it up as best I can and it doesn’t look bad, but definitely has ‘character’…
I will probably be listing it on Craig’s List or E-bay, but wanted to offer it to the members here first… I’d like to get $250-300 for it, but am open to offers…
It is near my space in Antwerp…
